What is The World’s Smallest Church?

A Place to Share. A Place to Grow. A Place to Connect. A Place Where Your Contribution Matters.
Jesus said Himself,

“For where two or three have gathered together in My name, I am there in their midst.” – Matthew 18:20 (NASB)

The World’s Smallest Church is exactly what Jesus said Church is. You, a companion, and Jesus sharing the World’s Largest Message.

We believe that every individual matters. Every connection matters. Every contribution matters. You matter. And we are committed to making the body of Christ what it was meant to be.

Although the Church is the biggest institution in the world, spanning over every continent, existing throughout all nations, and spanning in time down through the centuries, it is also represented in the smallest of connections.

And your volunteered contribution of talent, time, and passion is needed to make those connections.

Join us in helping those like you doing good…do more good.

The Place – Seven Falls Ranch

Seven Falls Ranch is tucked away in the countryside of Vinemont, AL, just 15 minutes outside Cullman on Highway 157. Besides the structures we built on it, it contains over 40 acres of woods and lots of wildlife, including deer and turkey.

Our journey to this property has taken 7 years and countless directions with one singular mission – how do we help those doing good…do more good?

Our founder, Howard Cannon, came across that question 7 years ago.

The Founder – Howard Cannon

Howard Cannon, COB and founder of Seven Falls Ranch has been writing the word “blinded” in his journals for seven years, ever since he was saved. For most of his life, he has been physically blinded due to an injury his father gave him as an infant, right before abandoning him, his mother, and his siblings. As a result, Howard spent most of his life with impaired eyesight, recently has gone blind in his right eye, and is quickly losing sight in his left.

But seven years ago, he found his vision truly turned upside down in the course of one weekend when his wife of 30 years sent him a life-altering email informing him that she was filing for divorce.

Before then, Howard had risen from a struggling childhood filled with hunger, homelessness, and physical abuse to become one of the most successful court-testifying Forensic Expert Witnesses in the country. But alone in an empty mansion, he began to wonder if something was wrong with him besides his physical eyesight.

Drawing from his pain, new and old, Howard experienced some of his most bitter and hate-filled moments in the following weeks…only to find Jesus sitting right next to him in the cheapest of seats. The two of them began to talk.

After thousands of hours of prayer, journaling, research, and a painful process of healing, Howard found that he was indeed more blind than he had originally thought – spiritually blinded by his own narcissistic, materialistic, money-loving ego and pride.

Now, Howard has dedicated his skillset as a Forensic Expert Witness to become a different kind of Expert Witness – an apologist willing to take up an argument with anyone about the validity of the gospel of Jesus Christ based on a reasonable degree of scientific certainty that would meet the evidence standard for the US Supreme Court and the absolute certainty of his Faith in Jesus Christ.

At first, that meant writing a book about his faith, titled “Forensic Faith for the Soul” which he completed last year. However, he currently feels led to only share it with his sons unless he believes God is directing him differently. So instead of his own books, he has leaned his mission of sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ into the development of Seven Falls Ranch – a property not just meant for his own mission and message, but for anyone with a small group of people out to do the good work of the Kingdom.

The Mission – Create the World’s Smallest Church for The World’s Largest Message

HOSPITALITY, KINDNESS, and SHARING are ESSENTIAL to HOW WE WANT TO SERVE JESUS.

Few things are more Christ-like than sitting around a hospitable environment, breaking bread with those in need, or being with close companions. Jesus Himself said to take care of the widows and orphans, and when he was about to go to the cross, He sat down to eat a hospitable meal with others whether they loved Him or not. Even Judas was still invited to the Last Supper.

Jesus knew, but Judas ate, too. That doesn’t leave us much room for exclusion.

That’s why Seven Falls Ranch—The World’s Smallest Church—is a network and place where you can connect, contribute, and belong. We are an organization designed to help individuals like you do more good – the real work of the church Monday to Saturday.

For the Church to make a difference, no matter how big or small, it needs people like YOU to volunteer to engage in God’s mission.

And no, that doesn’t mean volunteering your money. It doesn’t mean holding doors or parking cars for three hours for a Mega-Church either. There’s nothing inherently wrong with doing those things, and maybe that’s a good start to try to do something, but volunteering was meant to be so much more than free labor for a big institution.

Volunteering was meant to involve people like you with special talents and passions already present, making a difference in their community right in front of them.

And just like the connections that make the difference in the World’s Smallest Church are small, so are the actions. You don’t have to go to the other side of the world or hop on a bus. Maybe you need to share something you’ve written, or a toy with a kid who doesn’t have one for Christmas, or an hour of your time to cut your neighbor’s grass. Your purpose is not what you do. Your purpose is the positive impact you have on others when you do what you do.

Want to see how you can contribute something you’re passionate about – where you see the difference in your community? Follow and engage on our Facebook Page to join our exclusive Volunteer Group for updates about how to get involved!

And while you’re at it, you can even volunteer to share one of our posts as a start to sharing a gospel message. Again, it doesn’t take much to start volunteering your time and effort.
